Microdosing, It’s Not What You Think (Part 3 of 3)

When Psychedelics Aren’t The Answer

If you missed Parts 1 and 2, you should read those first. For everyone else, here’s where this gets interesting.

The Question Most People Aren’t Asking

When someone is considering psychedelics, in my opinion they almost never start with the right question.

They start with “should I do ayahuasca?” or “would microdosing help me?” or “is psilocybin the right journey for what I’m going through?”

Those are all the wrong questions.

The right question is “what problem am I truly trying to solve?”

Are you trying to:

  • Sharpen focus during deep work
  • Break through creative blocks that have you staring at a blank screen for 45 minutes before you give up and check email
  • Heal trauma that keeps replaying no matter how many years you’ve been in therapy
  • Understand why your reactions to your kids look exactly like your father’s did, even after you swore you’d never be that guy
  • Reset your nervous system after decades of high-output stress that has you waking up at 3 AM with your heart pounding
  • Address the anxiety showing up in your body even though your career is thriving
  • Stop the relationship patterns that have you in your second or third marriage wondering why the same fights keep happening

Because depending on the answer, psychedelics might be the right tool, the wrong tool, or completely beside the point.

A lot of people reach for psychedelics because they’re stuck. They’ve tried talk therapy, read the books, and done all the workshops, but the patterns keep repeating.

What they often don’t know is that the same outcomes psychedelics are being marketed for: dissolving limiting beliefs, healing trauma, breaking through emotional patterns, can often be achieved through modalities specifically designed for that work. Without the substance. In fewer sessions than most people expect, with results that don’t require ongoing dosing or repeat ceremonies to maintain.

This is what Sarah doesn’t realize in Part 1. She was chasing ayahuasca ceremonies and microdosing protocols hoping to dissolve the unworthiness driving her decisions. But there are direct, faster, more targeted approaches to resolve those exact wounds. They just require sitting with someone trained to do that kind of work.

Why I Went Deep Into This Work

That’s why I went deep into Time Line Therapy, NLP, and Hypnosis. These modalities access the unconscious mind directly and resolve the original imprints at their source. No retreat in Costa Rica required.

I’m not saying psychedelics never have a place. The microdosing experiment I’m running has a specific biological target. But when people use psychedelics as a substitute for the deeper inner work, they end up cycling through protocols without ever resolving what’s actually driving the patterns.

The honest question isn’t “should I do psychedelics.” It’s “what am I truly trying to solve, and what’s the most direct path to solving it?”

For some things, that path is biological. For other things, it’s unconscious-level work. Sometimes it’s both. Most of the time, people are guessing at which one they need.

Before you chase the next trend, the next supplement, or the next biohack, ask a better question.

What does your data say?

If you’ve never tested your genetics, your metabolites, your microbiome, your biomarkers, or your hormonal cascade, you’re making decisions about your most important asset without any of the information that matters.

You’re guessing in a domain where guessing has long-term consequences. You’re making decisions about your body the same way most people make decisions about their stock picks. On gut feel, podcast recommendations, and what worked for someone else.

Without data, your strategy is just expensive guessing.

What A Real Conversation Looks Like

If Sarah booked a Vitality Check Up call with me, this is what would happen.

I don’t start with recommendations, I start with questions. The kind that most coaches, doctors, and even psychedelic educators don’t bother asking.

I want to know what she’s truly trying to solve, not the surface complaint, but the pattern underneath it. How long she’s been carrying this weight. What she’s already tried and why she thinks it didn’t work. How intensely the problem is showing up in her body and her decisions on a daily basis. What she’s ready to let go of, and why she’s ready now.

But the questions are only the starting point.

While she’s talking, my training is doing something most people can’t. I’m listening for the language patterns that reveal the unconscious beliefs driving her behavior. I’m noticing the moments where her story contradicts itself, which is where the real work lives. I’m connecting the pattern in her marriage to the pattern in her career to what might be an unresolved dynamic with her father, because these aren’t separate problems. They’re the same wound expressing itself in different arenas.

After a decade of studying human behavior, biological systems, and unconscious patterning, I can hear what someone needs within the first 20 minutes of a real conversation. Not what they think they need. Not what the latest trend suggests. What their nervous system, biology, and unconscious mind are telling me they need.

By the end of that call, I can see clearly what the path forward looks like. Sometimes it’s the deeper unconscious work I described earlier to resolve what’s driving her decisions. Sometimes it’s testing and building a health roadmap to address the biological piece. Sometimes it’s both, in a specific sequence.

And if psychedelics come up in the conversation, we talk about them honestly. I’ll share what I’ve learned from my own experiment, what I’ve observed in people who’ve done ceremonies, and where I think they might or might not fit for someone like Sarah, or someone like you. I don’t recommend psychedelics. That’s not my lane. But I will help you think through whether they belong in the picture at all, or whether the real work is somewhere else entirely.

The point is that I’m not guessing. And neither is she anymore.

Where This Leaves You

If you’re like Sarah or like me, and you’re curious about how psychedelics, full dose or microdose, might fit into your health optimization journey, don’t guess.

If you’ve already done your doctor’s standard panel and the data says you should feel great but you don’t, don’t guess.
